MONTGOMERY COUNTY

contribution rate for Group E use inters; to provide
requirements for unfunded accrued liability
contributions and normal contribution; to provide
for the disposition of monies appropriated for
retirement purposes; to provide earnings of fund
in excess of the interest rate assumed shall be
used to fund cost-of-living; to provide equal
consideration for all county employees in the
matter of purchasing retirement service credits
for prior service as a fire alarm dispatcher,
fireman or rescue squadsman in Montgomery County;
to extend the period of time for purchase of
prior military service for retirement purposes;
to provide for repayment to members for
contributions made for purchase of credited
service for prior military service when such
member retires pursuant to the administrative
retirement and discontinued service retirement
procedures; to clarify prior credited service for
elective officials; to extend the time for use of
compensatory and annual leave in payment for
purchase of credited service; to provide for use
of accumulated sick leave credits for vesting
purposes and for creditable service for
retirement purposes; to resolve inequitites in
creditable service for disability leave; to
provide for transfers between the County
retirement system and other jurisdictions without
reciprocity agreements; to clarify payment
methods for purchase of prior County service; to
provide a method for purchasing prior service
credits for state or county service; to redefine
"Average final earnings" to mean the last twelve
months of service or any consecutive twelve
months in which member's earnings were higher; to
provide for an annual adjustment of the pension
of retired members or surviving beneficiary
according to the Consumers Price Index; to
provide for service recognition factor for
persons who qualify for discontinued service
pension to provide for a "normal retirement date"
and to adjust the pension payment for elective
and appointive officials; to provide for payment
of death benefits to a beneficiary of an employee
who dies while on authorized leave without pay
for illness; to correct an oversight in which
surviving eligible children were made ineligible
to receive employee contributions in the event of
the death of a parent; to clarify the eligibility
of beneficiaries to receive benefits in the event
