69. On the Back of the aforegoing Power of Attorney was thus Written Viz By this Publick Instrument be it known and made Manifest unto all to whom these presents shall come or may in any Wise concern That on the day of the date hereof Before me John W Smith Notary and Tabellion Public by Royal Authority duly Admitted and sworn dwelling and residing in the City and Province of New York in America Personally appeared John Holt and Hugh Hughes the subscribing Witnesses to the within Letter of Attorney Who being severally Sworn on the Holy Evangelist declared that they saw William Clajon sign seal and Deliver the within Letter of Attorney as his Voluntary Act and Deed for the Uses and Purposes therein Mentioned and that they subscribed their Names as Witnesses thereto In Faith and Testimony of the Truth whereof I the said L S Notary have hereunto subscribed my Name and Affixed my seal of Office the thirteenth day of August in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and sixty three Jn.o W Smith Not.s Pub.s Recorded the 16th September 1763 4 3/4 s.d Ex.d This Indenture made the first day of September in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and sixty three Between William Clajon and Mary his Wife of the City of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland of the one Part and John Shaw of Ann Arundel County in the same place Surgeon of the other part Whereas by an Act of Assembly passed at a Session of Assembly held in April last past the said William Clajon and Mary his Wife were impowered to sell a lott of Ground Number One hundred and Two lying in the said City of Annapolis with the Houses and Improvements thereon scituate on the North East Side of the said City at Public Vendue to the highest Bidder three Months Notice being first given of the Time of such sale and to Convey the same by Indenture of Bargain and sale or any other proper Conveyance as by the same Act of Assembly Referrence being thereunto had may more fully appear And Whereas the said John Shaw at a Public Vendue of the said Premisses on the seventh day of January last past due Notice having been first given agreeable to the said Act of Assembly was the highest Bidder at and for the sum of Two hundred & Eighty Pounds Inspection Law Currency Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Will.m Clajon and Mary his Wife for and in Consideration of the aforesaid Sum of Two hundred & Eighty Pounds Inspection Law Current |
