619) On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written (viz) Maryland to wit Be it Remembred that on the day and year first within written personally Appeared Before me the Subscriber one of his lordship the Right Honble the Lord Prop.ry his Justices of the provincial Court the several parties within mentioned and severally Acknowledged the within Writing According to Law and I further Certifie that previous to the above acknowledgement I examined the several Feme Coverts within mentioned privately and Apart and out of the hearing ^of^ their several husbands Agree^a^ble to the directions of the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided who severally declared that they made their several Acknowledgements voluntarily and freely without the threats fear or Compulsion of their said Husbands to compell them thereto or fear of gaining their displeasure &c Taken & Acknowledged Before Rob.t Jenkins Henry Received April the 29.th 1765 of M.r Bowden Robins the sum of Five Shillings and seven pence half penny Sterling as an Alienation fine on the within Land P Joseph Allen Receiv.r Recorded 9.th Sept.r 1765 Ex.d This Indenture made this 11.th Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five Between Gabrial McWay of Queen Anns County Planter of the one Part and Humphrey Wells of Queen Ann's County Planter of the other part Whereas for the docking bearing and extinguishing all Estates Tail and Reversions and Remainders thereupon expectant or depending of and in the Lands and Appurtenances hereinafter mentioned the said Gabriel McWay as Demandant did heretofore at the request Cost and Charges of the aforesaid Humphrey Wells prosecute and sue fou^r^th out of his Lordships high Court of Chancery his said Lordships Writ of Entry sur Disseisin en lepost against him the same Humphrey Wells returnable and returned to the Provincial Court at Annapolis on the second Tuesday of September whereby the said Gabri^e^l McWay did demand against the same Humphrey Wells ^That part of a Tract or parcell of plantable land called Bath which Humphrey Wells^ deceased devised in Tail to his son George Wells scituate lying and being in Queen Ann's County aforesaid containing Two hundred and fifty five Acres of Land with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging to which said Writ the said Humphrey Wells did appear in this proper Person and Vouch to Warranty thereof the Common Vouchee of the same Court and such further and other Proceedings |
