592 Committed upon the Body of one Negro Slave called Frank the Property of Charles Carroll Esq.r Know ye that We of our especial Grace certain Knowledge and mere motion and at the humble Petition of the said John Ireland have Pardoned Released and discharged and by these presents for us our heirs and Successors do Pardon Release and discharge to the said John Ireland of Ann Arundel County Gentleman or by any other Name or Addition Art History or Place the said John Ireland was lately or is now Know Distinguished and called the Felony and Homicide of the said Negro Frank and every the Trespass and other misdeeds in any manner touching or concerning the death of the said Negro Frank and all and every kind of of Suit Complaint Action Impeachment and demand whatsoever which we against the said John Ireland by Reason or Occasion of the Premises now or may hereafter have and Prosecution of the Peace which to us against the said John Ireland belongs or hereafter may belong and therefore We give and Grant unto the said John Ireland our firm Peace that we will stay Surcease and for bear any Proceedings at Law upon the Felony and Homicide aforesaid by these Presents so that he may stand Right in all Courts if any one against him shall object the Premises or any of them Witness our Trusty and well beloved Horatio Sharpe Esq.r Governor and Commander in Chief in and over our said Province of Maryland this seventeenth day of August in the Fifteenth Year of our Dominion Anno Domini 1765 The great seal U Scott Cl Con in Wax Horatio appendant Sharpe 3 sides Recorded the 18.th August 1765 Ex.d This Indenture Made the Twenty fifth day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five and in the fifth Year of the Reigh of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth Between William Black of the City of London Merchant of the one part and John Hammond of the Province of Maryland Barrister at Law of the other Part Witnesseth That for and in Consideration of the sum of Sixty Pounds Sterling Money to the said William Black in hand paid by the said John Hammond at or before the Ensealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof as the full Consideration of the Absolute Purchase of the Tract or Parcell of Land with its Appurtenances hereinafter mentioned to |
