588) and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be their Act and deed and Lands and premisses therein mentioned and thereby granted bargained and Sold or intended so to be to be the right property and Estate of the Within named Richard Sprigg his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true intent and Meaning of the same Writing And at the same time the aforesaid Elizabeth being by examined privately out of the hearing of her said Husband did declare that She executed the within Writing and made her said acknowledgement thereof as above willingly and freely and Without being induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill usage by her Husband or fear of his displeasure John Weems Tho.s Gassaway 10.th August 1765 Received the sum of Two pounds five shillings and three pence half penny being the Alienation fine of the within Lands up on Acc.t of the Lord Baltimore Recorded 10.th August 1765 Edward Lloyd 9 3/4 s.ds Ex.d This Indenture Made the Twentieth Day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty five Between ^Brigadier^ General Henry Bouquet of the City of the City of Philadelphia in the Province of Pennsylvania of the one Part and Hugh Roberts of the said City Gentleman of the other Part Whereas the said Henry Bouquet in and by a certain Obligation or Writing Obligatory under his Hand and Seal duly executed bearing even date herewith standeth bound unto the said Hugh Roberts in the sum of Two thousand Pounds lawful Money of Pensylvania Conditioned for the payment of One thousand Pounds Like Money on the Twentieth Day of June which will be in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty six in one entire payment Together with lawfull Interest for the same; As in and by the said recited Obligation and Condition thereof Relation being thereunto had more fully and at Large appears Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Henry Bouquet for and in Consideration of the aforesaid Debt or sum of one thousand Pounds and for the better securing the Payment thereof with its Interest unto the said Hugh Roberts his Executors Administrators and Assigns in discharge of the said recited Obligation and for and in consideration of the further sum of Five Shillings lawfull Money aforesaid unto the said Henry Bouquet in hand (paid) |
