53. Plantations and Colonies in America Do hereby Certify that on the Day of the Date hereof Personally came and appeared before me Benjamin Hammatt the Deponant named in the Affidavit hereunto annexed being a Person well Known and Worthy of good Credit and by solemn oath which the said Deponent then took before me upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God Did solemnly and sincerely declare testify and depose to be true the severall Matters and things mentioned and Contained in the said annexed Affidavit In Faith and Testimony whereof I the said Lord Mayor have Caused the Seal of the Office of Mayoralty of the said City of London to be hereunto put and Affixed and the Letter of Attorney mentioned and referred to in and by the Said Affidavit to be hereunto annexed Dated in London the Tenth day of July in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and sixty one Hodges Benjamin Hammond Clerk to London to Wit William Tudman of the Parish of S.t Edmund the King and Martyr London Notary Publick Maketh Oath that he this Deponant was this Day Present and did see John Buchanan by the Name stile and Title of John Buchanan of the City of London Merchant sign seal and as his Act and Deed in due form of Law Execute and deliver the Original Paper writing Procuration or Letter of Attorney hereunto annexed bearing date this tenth day of July One thousand seven hundred and sixty one to and for the Uses Intents and Purposes therein mentioned And that in Testimony of such Execution Sam.l Buchanan and he this Deponent Severally sett or subscribed their Names as Witnesses thereto as thereby may Appear Benj.a Hammatt Sworn the Tenth day of July in the Year 1761 Before me at the Mansion House Matt.w Blakiston Mayor On the Tenth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and sixty one Before me William Tudman Notary and Tabellion Publick dwelling in London duly Admitted and Sworn and Witnesses Personally Appeared John Buchanan of the City of London Merchant Who declared to have made Ordained Constituted Authorized and Appointed and by these Presents Doth make ordain Constitute Authorize and Appoint James Dick of London Town in the Province of Maryland Merchant his true and Lawfull Attorney Giving and hereby granting |
