491. put and Affixed and the Letter of Attorney mentioned and referred to in and by the said Affidavit to be hereunto also Annexed Dated in London the Fourteenth day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty four Hodges William Baker of Ball Court Cornhill London Gentleman maketh Oath and saith that he this Deponent was Present and did see Robert Christie and James Christie of London Merchants and Partners severally sign Seal and as their Act and Deed deliver the Letter of Attorney hereunto Annexed and marked with the Letter (A) and that In testimony thereof he this Deponent did Subscribe his name as Witness to the Execution of the said Letter of Attorney W.m Baker Sworn at London the 14.th day of May 1764 Before me W.m Bridgen Mayor (A) To all to whom these Presents shall come Robert Christie and James Christie of London Merchants and Partners send Greeting Know Ye that the said Robert Christie and James Christie Have and each of them Hath made Constituted and Appointed and by these Presents Do and each of them Doth make Constitute Appoint and fully Authorize and Impower Robert Christie the Younger of London Gentleman now shortly bound to America and Daniel of Saint Thomas Jenifer of the Province of Maryland Esq.r to be Jointly and Severally their True and lawfull Attorneys and Attorney for them the said Constituents and each of them in their names and name and to and for their Use To Ask Demand sue for recover and receive all such sum and sums of Money Debts Goods and Effects whatsoever as are shall or may be due owing or belonging to them the said Constituents or either of them from by or in the Hands of any Person or Persons whomsoever in the Province of Maryland and Virginia or either of them or else where in America by any ways or means Whatsoever And so give Sign Seal and Execute full Absolute and sufficient Acquittances Releases and Discharges for the same or any Part thereof on Receipt to Compound Compromise and Agree for and in respect of the Premises As the nature of the Case may (require) NB the Power of Attorney ought to have been Recorded before the Certificate and Acknowledgement which is done by Mistake |
