489. thousand seven hundred and Sixty five Then came the within mentioned Samuel Howard party to the within Deed and Acknowledged the within mentioned Land and Premises to be the Right and Property of him the said Elijah Owings his Heirs and Assigns forever According to the true intent and meaning of the said Deed and the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided Geo Steuart 1765 January the 14.th M.r Elijah Owings Ten shillings Sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation fine on the within Two hundred and fifty Acres of Land by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq his said Lordships Agent and receiver General Benj.a Beall Recorded the 14.th Jan.y 1765 5 1/2 Ex.d This Indenture made this Seventeenth day of January Seventeen hundred and Sixty five Between Lancelot Jacques and Thomas Johnson Junior of Annapolis of the one Part and John Rogers of the same Place Attorney at law of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Lancelot Jacques & Thomas Johnson Jun.r for and in Consideration of the sum of ten shillings Current Money to them in hand Paid by the said John Rogers the receit whereof they do hereby Acknowledge have Granted Bargained and Sold And by these Presents doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto him the said John Rogers his Heirs and Assigns forever all that Part of a Tract or Parcell of Land called Kindness lying and being in Frederick County which is included within the following Lines to wit Begining at the end of the North fourteen degrees and fifty six Perches line of the said whole Tract and running thence with the Lines thereof North Seventy degrees east Sixty Perches South thirteen degrees east one hundred and twenty Perches and from thence to the Begining of the said Part Containing twenty Acres of Land more or Less together with the Appurtenances thereto belonging To have and to hold the said part of the Tract of Land aforesaid and Appurtenances to him the said John Rogers his Heirs and Assigns to the ^his and their^ only Proper use and behoof In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and Affixed their Seals the day and Year first above Written (Signed) |
