469 against him the aforesaid William Thomas and his Heirs and all and every Person and Persons whatsoever claiming or Pretending to claim any thing in the same Lands and Premises by from or under him or them or any of them shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto Interchangeably set their Hands and Affixed their Seals the day and Year first above Written Sealed and Delivered in Will Thomas Seal the Presence Geo Steuart Henry Hill On the Back of the aforegoing deed was thus Written Viz.t Received on the day and Year first within Written of and from the within named Philip Thomas the sum of Six hundred Pounds Sterling Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be by him Paid me Test George Steuart Will Thomas Henry Hill On the seventh day of December 1764 Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within named William Thomas and Acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premises in the same Particular^l^y specified to be the Right and Estate of the within Philip Thomas his Heirs and Assigns According to the True intent and meaning thereof Also at the same time came Mary the Wife of him the said Philip ^William^ Thomas and being by me Privately examined apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did repeat as above and did also further declare that She made this Acknowledgment of her own Voluntary free will and Accord without being induced thereto by threats or ill Usage from her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Geo Steuart December the 7.th 1764 Received of M.r Philip Thomas twenty pounds (seven) |
