45. Justices of the Provincial Court for the Province aforesaid and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that he saw the within named John Gill sign seal & Deliver the within Power of Attorney & heard him Acknowledge the same to be his Act and Deed & requested of this Deponant that he would subscribe his Name as a Witness thereto Jn.o Brice Recorded the 8th day of August 1763 4 s.d Exam.d To all to whom these presents shall come I Sir Samuel Fludger Kn.t & Bar.t Lord Mayor of the City of London In Pursuance of an Act of Parliament made and passed in the Fifth Year of the Reign of his late Majesty King George the second Intituled an Act for the More easy recovery of Debts in his Majestys Plantations and Colonies in America Do hereby Certify that on the day of the date hereof personally came and appeared before me William Crofts of the City of London Gentleman the Deponent named in the Affidavit hereunto annexed being a person well known and worthy of good Credit and by solemn Oath which the said Deponant then took before me upon the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Did solemnly and sincerely declare testify and depose to be true the several Matters and things mentioned and Contained in the said annexed Affidavit L S In Faith and Testimony whereof I the said Lord Mayor have caused the seal of the Office of Mayoralty of the said City of London to be hereunto put and Affixed and the Letter of Attorney mentioned and referred to in and by the said Affidavit to be hereunto Affixed Dated in London the Thirteenth day of March in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and sixty Two Hodges William Crofts of the City of London Gent Maketh Oath upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he was Present on the day of the date hereof And did see M.r John Fish by the Name and Addition of John Fish of this City Merchant sign seal and as his own Act and Deed duly Execute and deliver the procuration or Letter of Attorney hereunto Annexed to and for the Use of his Wife Elizabeth Fish now ready to depart on a Voyage for Virginia Maryland and Quebec in North America And for the Uses and Purposes therein mentioned and Contained And that he this Deponent did immediately after the Execution thereof as aforesaid together with Davis Elias subscribe their Names as Witnesses thereto in the Presence of each other sworn this 13th day of March before me in London Will.m Crofts S Fludger Mayor |
