43. within Instrument of Writing and Acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed and the Lands & Premisses therein mentioned to be the right & Estate of the within named Richard Henderson his Heirs & assigns for ever according to the true Intent and meaning of the within Deed and according to the Act of Assembly for such Cases made and Provided On the same day also personally appeared before us Mary Wife of the within named Henry Greenfield Sothoron who being privately Examined by us a part and out of the hearing of her said Husband declared that she voluntarily and of her own free will and without being induced thereto by fears or threats of or Ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Released her Right of Dower to & in the within mentioned Land & Premisses and Acknowledged the same to be the Right & Estate of the aforesaid Richard Henderson his Heirs & Assigns for ever according to the Act of Assembly for such Cases made & provided Taken & Acknowledged the day & year aforesaid before Th.s Greenfield Mev.l Lock St Marys County to Wit I hereby Certifie that M.r Thomas Greenfield & M.r Meverell Lock before whom the within Deed was signed and Acknowledged LS was at the Time of signing & Acknowledged & still heir two of his Lordships the right Honouble the Lord Prop.rys Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid to whom full faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Justice Court as there out In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Affixed the Public Seal of the County aforesaid this 15.th day of July 1763 Rich.d Ward Key Clk S.t Marys County Received the 12th July 1763 of Richard Henderson Three hundred and fifty pounds sterling Money being the Consideration within Mentioned Test Tho.s Greenfield Henry G Sothoron Mev.l Lock 1763 July 28th Receivd of M.r Richard Henderson Twenty shillings sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Five Hundred Acres of Land by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent & receiver General Benj.a Beall 12 1/2 s.d Recorded the 28th July 1763 |
