55) Lands and Whereas Charles Carroll party to these Presents is intitled to the other Share or Moiety of the said Lands Now This Indenture Further Witnesseth that the Said Charles Carroll as well for himself as by the Power granted unto him by the Will of the Said Daniel Carroll Hath for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty pounds Sterling to him in hand paid by the said John Crafford the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof doth Acquit and Discharge the said John Crafford his heirs Ex.rs and Adm.rs Bargained and Sold and by these Presents doth Bargain and Sell unto him the Said John Crafford his heirs and Assigns all that part of the aforesaid Tract of Land Called Carrolls Delight which is included in the following Metes and Bounds Beginning at a small white Oake Tree Notched with twelve Notches being a Corner of Andrew Harts Land the said Tree standing on the south side of the Middle Branch of the Creek Called Middle Creek and about ten or twelve perches from said Middle Branch of said Middle Creek from ^the^ Said Tree, North Eight degrees, and a half East Two hundred and Twenty Nine perches along Andrew Harts Land from thence North Seventy Nine degrees and a half West to a Walnut Grubb One hundred and Ninety Six Perches from thence South two degrees, East along the South Side of the Mountain to a Notched White Oak One hundred and fifty seven perches, from thence south fifty five degrees and a Quarter East One hundred and Eighty four perches, tot he place of Beginning Containing and laid out for Two (hundred) |
