36) apart from and out of the hearing of their Husbands did repeat as above and did further Declare that they m^a^de this acknowledgment of their own Voluntary free Will without any threats or Compulsion from their Said husbands or fear of their Displeasure 8 s.d Recorded Oct.r 21 1756 John Brice Maryland fs.t Exam.d This Indenture made the twenty first Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty Six Between Charles Homewood of Ann Arundel County in the Province afs.d Gentleman and John Brice of the City of Annapolis in the Province aforesaid Ge^n^tleman of the other Part Witnesseth that the Said Charles Homwood and John Brice for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings of Lawful Money of Great Brittain to them in hand Paid by the Said Thomas Jenings at or before ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and Sold ^and^ by these Presents to bargain and Sell unto the Thomas Jennings all that Part of a Tract of Land called Scotland Containing two hundred acres more or Less with the Appurtenances Lying in the County aforesaid together with the Houses bu^i^ldings Improvements Commodities and advantages to the same belonging To have and to Hold the Said Part or Parcel of Land and Premisses with the appurtenances hereby bargained and sold or mentioned or intended to be hereby bargained and sold unto the said Thomas Jennings his Executors Administrators and Assigns from the Day next before the Day of the Date of the Pll these Presents for during and unto the full End and Term of one whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to be (Compleat) |
