           This Indenture made the seventeenth day of February in
       the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty six Between
       Joseph Bickerton Son and heir at Law of John Bickerton late of
       Ann Arundell County in the province of Maryland Deceased of the
       one part and John Skinner of Calvert Calvert County and province
       afd Merchant of the other part witnesseth that the said Joseph
       Bickerton for and in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred pounds
       current money of Maryland to him in hand paid by ^the^ said John Skinner
       the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and of Every part thereof
       doth fully Acquit and discharge the said John Skinner Have granted
       bargained Sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents doth
       grant Bargain sell Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said John Skinner
       his heirs Executors and assigns for ever all his right and Title Interest
       Claim and demand of in and to the three following parcells of Land
       lying and being on the east side of Patuxent River Viz.t part of a Tract
       of Land called or known by the name of Hunts Chance part of
       one other tract of Land Called Broughton Ashley both the said
       Tracts lying and being lying and being in Ann Arundell County
       in the province aforesaid and also one other part of a Tract of Land called
       Hamiltons park lying and being in Calvert County in the
       province afd To have and to Hold the Said three parcells
       of Land and premisses togeather with all houses Buildings
       Ways Woods Trees and Grounds thereunto Belonging or
       in anyways appertaining unto the Said John Skinner his
       heirs and Assigns forever, and to and for no other Use Intent
       or purpose whatsoever And he the Said Joseph Bickerton
       doth further Covenant grant and agree to and with the Said
       John Skinner his heirs and assigns that he the Said Joseph
       the afd three parcels of Land and premisses and every of the
       appurtenances unto him the Said John Skinner his heirs
       and assigns from time to time and at all times hereafter
       will Warrant and forever defend against the lawfull Claim
