268) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Ann Arundell County fs.t On the 13.th day of July 1758 Came the within named John Hamilton before us the Subscribers and acknowledged the within Instrument to be theire Act and Deed and the Land and premisses therein Mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named William Chew Brown his Heirs and Assigns forever and at the same Time Came also Rebekah the Wife of the Said John and being by us privately examined out of the Hearing of him Said Husband acknowledged her right of Dower and that she did the Same of her free and Voluntary Consent without being thereto Compelled by any threats from her Said Husband or fear of his Displeasure taken before us Henry Howard Ephraim Howard July y.e 13.th 1758 Rec.d of W.m Chew Brown the sum of fifteen pounds Starling Money being the Purchase Money of the within Ment.d Land and primices by me Testas Henry Howard Jn.o Hamilton Valentine Brown Ju.r August the 2.d 1758 Received of M.r William Chew Brown three Shillings and Nine Pence Sterling for his Lordships Use (it being the Alienation fine on the within Mentioned Ninety three Acres of Land) by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his Lordships Agent and Receiver General Recorded 2.d August 1758 Rich.d Dorsey 11 1/2 sides |
