22) Maryland fs.t Be it remembred that on the day & year first within mentioned Joseph Hutton party to the with deed Personall appeared before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court & Acknowledged the within Indenture to be his Act & Deed & the land within mentioned with its appurtenances to be the Sole Right & Property of the within named Charles Graham his heirs & assigns for Ever and the Negroes therein mentioned to be the Right & Estate of him the said Charles Graham his Executors Administrators & Assigns according to the Purport & true meaning of the said Writing & the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and Provided before J Hepburn 8 1/2 s.d Recorded October 2.d 1756 Know all men by these Presents that we William Hopper William Clayton & Thomas Carradine of Queen Anns County in the Province of Maryland Gentlemen are holden and firmly bound unto the Lord Right Honourable the Lord Propry in the full sum of Two Hundred Pounds Current Money To be paid to his said Lordship his heirs and Successors To wich Payment well and Truly to be made we bind our Selves and every of us our and Every of our heirs Executo.s and Administrators Jointly and Severally for and in the whole Sum firmly by these Presents sealed with our Seals and Dated this 28.th Day of September 1756 The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the bounden William Hopper Whilst he sall Continue in the Office of Receiver or Collector of the Land Tax in Queen Anns County shall well and faithfully Execute and Perform the Several Dutys Require of him to be Performd by the Act of Assembly of this Province entituled and act for Granting a Supply of Forty Thousand Pounds for his Majestys Service and Striking Thirty four Thousand and fifteen Pounds (Six) (and) |
