       and s six shillings thereof in Bills of Credit and Raising a
       Fund for sinking the same and do well and faithfully Pay to the Com.rs
       of the Loan office for the time being the Sums of Money which he
       shall Receive or be Answerable for in Virtue of the Same Act at Such
       Times as by the said Act is Directed According to the True Intent and Meaning
       Thereof then the above Obligation to be Void and of no Effect otherwise to
       Remain in full Force and Virtue

       On the Back of the aforegoing Bond was thus indorsed Viz.t

       September the 26.th 1756 The within named Matthew Dockery & Samuel M.cCosh
       appeared before us two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Queen Anns
       County & made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they saw
       the within men named William Hopper William Clayton & Thomas
       Carradine Seal & Deliver the within written Bond & heard then respectively
       Acknowledge the Same to be their Act & Deed In Testimony whereof
       we have hereunto Set our Hands the Day and Year above written

Ex.d This Indenture made this first Day of October in the year
       of our Lord seventeen hundred and fifty six Between John Lamar
       Jun.r of Prince George County in the Province of Maryland Planter
       on the one part and Brian Philpot of the City of London in the
       Kingdom of Great Britain Merchant of the other Part Whereas
       the said John Lamar jun.r was indebted unto the aforesaid Brian
       Philpot and a Certain William Torver of London aforesaid Deceas'd
       Merchants in Company in the Lifetime of the aforesaid William
