178) April 30th 1757 Then came before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court George Maxwell and Elizabeth his Wife Thomas Brouster and James Johnson Parties To the within Deed and Acknowledged to be their Act and Deed and the Said Elizabeth Maxwell being Privately Examined out of the presence and hearing of her Husband aforesaid Declared that she freely & Voluntarily Executed the Same and was not Induced thereto by any threats or fear of her Husbands Displeasure 23 sides Geo Steuart Ex.d This Indenture made the Eleventh day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty seven Between Joseph Dunbarr of Saint Marys County in the Province of Maryland Planter of the one part and John Hall of the Same County Attorney at Law of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Joseph Dunbarr for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Current Money to him in hand paid at or before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath Granted Bargained and Sold and by these Presents Doth Grant Bargain and Sold unto him the Said John Hall his Executors Administrators and assigns all that Tract of Land called Edloes Neck being part of Hawleys Manor and Lying on S.t Jeroms (Creek) |
