161) And sell to the ^said^ James Maccubbin and his heirs and assigns for ever all that Tract or parcell of Land Lying and being in Baltimore and in the fork of Gunpowder River called and known by the name of Gassaways Ridge Containing five hundred Acres of Land More or Less which said Land was Conveyed by Edward Sprigg to the said Thomas Lingan this Day Reference being had to the said Deed will more fully and at Large appear to have and to hold the Said Bargained land and premisses to the said James Maccubbin his heirs and assigns for ever Provided always and it is the True Intent & meaning of the parties to these presents is that if the said Thomas Lingan his Executors Administrators or assigns shall well and Truely pay to the Said James Maccubbin his Executors Administrators the principal Money and Interest due on the Said Obligation and also the Cost and Charge of Drawing & Recording his Morgage on or before the 29.th day of October next with Legal Interest for the same then this present writing to be void and the Land and Premisses within mentioned to become the property of the Said Thomas Lingan any thing herein contained to the Contrary Notwithstanding Otherwise to be and remain in full force and Virtue Sealed and Delivered T Lingan seal in presence of in the Eighteenth line on the other side from the Top after the word Maccubbin (and before the word all) is interlined the following words (and to his heirs and assigns for ever) Nathan Waters Jn.o Lane On the back of the aforegoing morgage was thus endorst Viz.t Received of the within mentioned James Maccubbin five Shillings Sterling the Consideration Money within Mentioned this 29 day of October 1757 Witness T Lingan Nathan Waters Jn.o Lane (Came) |
