160) Obligation to be Void and of none Effect, Otherwise to remain in full force and Virtue in Law Sealed and Delivered in presence of T Lingan seal Nathan Waters Jn.o Lane Duty paid 2s John Brice Clk Recorded Nov.r 7.th 1757 Ex.d This Indenture made the twenty ninth day of October in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and fifty Seven Between Thomas Lingan of Baltimore County Physician of the one part and James Maccubbin of the City of Annapolis Merchant of the other part Whereas the Said Thomas Lingan by his Writing Obligatory bearing the same date with these presents Acknowledged himself to be held and firmly bound unto James Maccubbin aforesaid in the penal sum of Two hundred and twelve pounds Sterling with Condition there under Written to be void on the Payment of the Sum of one hundred and six pounds Sterling money of great Britain as by the said writing Obligatory may more fully appear Now this Indenture Wittnesseth that the Said Thomas Lingan as well for the better securing the payment of the principal money and Interest due by the said Bond as for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Sterling Money by the Said James Maccubbin to the Said Lingan in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these Presents doth bargain (&) |
