15) Know all Men by these presents that I Henry Keene of Frederick County Planter for and in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred Pounds thirteen Exam.d shillings Current Money to me in hand paid by Lawrance Owen of same County planter the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have Bargained & sold by these presents do Bargain and Sell unto the said Lawrance Owen one negro Boy named Joe Six Silver Tea Spoons two Feather Beds & Furniture Six Cows Cows five Table Spoons and one Silver Quart Cann To Have and To Hold the said Negroes named James & Joe Joe J six silver Tea Spoons two Feather Beds & furniture & Six Cows & the Silver Quart Can unto the said Lawrance Owen his Exos Admrs and Assigns and the said Henry Kane for my self my Exos Adm.rs do Covent and Agree to and with the said Laurance Owen his Exos Adm.rs and Assigns to Warrand and Defend the said hereby bargained and sold Premises unto the said Lawrance Owen his Exos Adm.rs and Assigns ag.t me the said Henry Keene and all other Person or Persons whatsoever Provided Nevertheless and it is the true Intent and meaning of these presents that if the said Henry Keene his Exos or Adm.rs do & shall well and truly pay or caus to be paid unto the said Lawrance Owen his Ex.r Adm.rs or Assigns the said sum of one hundred Pounds thirteen shillings Current Money on or before the Eighth Day of March next ensuing with Legal Interest for the same from the Date hereof that then this present Instrument of Writing shall be void & of none Effect otherwise to remain in full force and Virtue in Law In Witness whereof said Henry Keene have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of August in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and fifty six Henry Keene seal sealed and Delivered In the Presents of Charles Jones William Williams Son Tho.s on the Back of the foregoing Mortgage was thus endorsed Viz.t Aug.t the 16.th 1756 Then reced of M.r Laurance Owen the sum of one hundred Pounds thirteen Shillings Current money being the Consideration ^money^ within Expressed Witness Henry Keene Charles Jones Reced P me William Williams son Tho.s (August) |
