695 the said Joseph Ensor his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs or his or their Council Learned in in the Law be reasonably devised Advised or required In Witness whereof the party first above Mentioned to these presents has hereunto put his hand and seal the day and year first above Written sealed and Delivered in the presence of Merriman Cox seal Rob.t Giddes J Dennis jun.r Received the The sum of Thirty pounds Current money the Condition money mentioned in the within Deed of Bargain and sale & in full of the same as Witness my hand Tes.t Rob.t Geddes Merriman Cox J Dennis jun.r Received of M.r Joseph Ensor one shilling and two pence half penny ster.l for his Lordships use (it being the alienation fine on the within mentioned sixty acres of Land) by Virtue of a Commission from Edw.d Lloyd Esq his said Lordships agent and Receiver Generall Rich.d Dorsey April 16.th 1756 Then came before me the subcriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court Merriman Cox party to these presents and acknowledged the Within Deed of Bargain and Sale and the Land and Premisses therein Contained to be the Right and property of the Within Named Joseph Ensor his heirs and assigns forever Q Hands 7 1/2 sides Recorded May 28.th 1756 Maryland fs.t Exam.d Know all men by these presents that we Charles Hammond and Benjamin Tasker Esquires and Nicholas Maccubbin Gentleman all of ann Arundell County are held and firmly bound unto the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of the said province is the full and just sum of Two thousand pounds sterling money to be paid unto the said Lord Proprietary his heirs and Successors to Which payment well and truly to be made and done We bind ourselves and Each of us our and every of our heirs Executors & Administrators Jointly and Severally for the Whole and in the whole firmly by these presents sealed with our Seals and dated this Twenty fifth day of May Anno Dom 1756 The Condition of the Above Obligation is such that if the said Charles Hammond as one of the Commissioners of the Loan Office shall well and truly Execute the several powers and Authoritys by him to be done and performed According to the true intent and Meaning of an Act of Assembly Entituled an act for granting a supply of Forty thousand pounds |
