       I hereby certify that the above named Nich.o Ruxton Gay &
       Walter Tolley Gentleman the Persons taking & subscribing the
       above Acknowledgement of John Griness Howard & Elizabeth
       his wife were at the Time of Taking & signing the same & still
       are two of his Lordships the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the
       peace for Baltimore County in the Province afd Maryland thereunto
       legally assigned & qualified and that to all Acknowledgements before
       them so made & signed full faith & credit is and ought to be given
       as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof the
       publick seal of the said County is hereunto affixed this eighteenth
       day of October Anno Dom seventeen hundred & fifty five

                                           Whereas there is a Judgment & Decree in the
       High Court of Chancery whereby it is ordered Adjudged and Decreed
       that in case John Hall of Ann Arundell County Gentleman doth not
       on or before the twenty ninth day of April, seventeen hundred &
       fifty six pay unto George Atkinson Executor of Christopher
       Grindall late of London Mariner the sum of Three hundred
       and Ninety four pounds Eighteen Shillings & Eight pence sterling
       with Lawfull Interest for the same and also all Costs expended
       by the said George Atkinson in this suit the said John Hall and all
       Persons claiming from by or under him shall be forever & they are by
       the said Decree from thence forth debarred & foreclos'd of all manner
       of Equity of redemtion or Reclaim in & to all & every part and
       parcel of the Land mortguaged by the said John Hall to the said
       Christopher Grindall, and that the Estate in the said Lands
       be free and absolutely of & from all Redemtion & Equity &
