652 On the Back of the foregoing Deed was thus Endorced Viz.t Feb.ry 13.th 1756 Then Received of George Darby the sum of Ten pound thirteen shillings and nine pence Current money it being mentioned fourteen acres & one quarter the full Consideration for the within Land and Premisses Witness my hand y.e day and year above Written Jn.o Smith Prather P.r Jeremiah Virgin Maryland fs.t Feb.ry the thirteenth Day 1756 Then came Jeremiah Virgin party to the within Deed and Acknowledged the same with the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right of the within named George Darby his heirs and Assignes forever According to the Directions of the Act of Assembly before and at the same time Came Lucy the wife of the said Virgin after being Exam.d out of hearing of her husband she Acknowledge her right of Dower of the within mentioned Land and that she did it Voluntaryly and freely without being Compeld or fear or threats or Displeasure of her husband John Smith Prather Cha.s Jones Feb.ry 20.th 1756 Rec.d of M.r George Darby seven pence & one Eighth of a Penny Sterling for his Lordships use (it being the Alienation fine on the within men.d Land) by Virtue of a Commission from E.d Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships agent and 6 sides Receiver Gen.l Rich.d Dorsey This Indenture Made this fifth day of march One thousand seven hundred and fifty six Between William Hitchinson and Rachel his wife of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland of the one part and Luke Griffith of Baltimore County in the said Province of the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds Current Money to them |
