       Whatsoever In Witness whereof the Parties to these presents have hereunto

       Received on the Day and Year first within Written of the within Named John
       Attaway Clarke the sum of Ten thousand pounds of Crop Tobacco in full
       for the Consideration within Mentioned to be by him paid to my self and

                April 7.th 1755      Then Came before me the Subscriber one of his
       Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within Named John
       Tennison and Susannah his Wife and Acknowledged the within
       Instrument of Writing to be their Act and Deed and that the Lands
       and Premisses therein Specified were the Right and Estate of the
       Within Names John Attaway Clarke his Heirs and Assigns according
       to the true Intent and Meaning thereof also Susannah his Wife
       of him the said John Tennison being by me privately Examined apart
       from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did repeat as
       above and that she made this Acknowledgement of her own Voluntary
       and free will without any Threats or Compulsion from her said
       Husband or fear of his Displeasure
