359) said John Brice his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other Use Intent or Purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto Interchangeably set their hands and Seals the day and Year first above written Tho.s Cockey Seal Sealed & Delivered in the Presence of Jn.o Brice Seal Ja.s Barrance Tho.s Jennings Seal William Steuart Beale Nicholson Seal On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within named Thomas Cockey and John Brice and Acknowledged the within Deed as their Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and estate of the within mentioned Thomas Jennings according to the true Intent and meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided Acknowledged the twentieth day of March 1753 9 Recorded April 21.st 1753 R.d Tilghman Ex.d This Indenture made the Eighteenth day of April in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand Seven hundred fifty three Between Christopher Lowndes of Prince Georges County Merchant on the one part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Merchant on the other part Witnesseth that Whereas John Chalmers of the City aforesaid Baker by his Deed Indented duly Executed and Recorded bearing date the Eighth day of November One Thousand Seven hundred and forty eight for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty five Pounds four Shillings Currency and Nine Pounds nine Shillings Sterling Did Grant Bargain Alien make over and Confirm unto the said Christopher Lowndes his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Tract or Parcel of Land called Bear Den in Frederick County formerly Prince Georges County Containing One hundred Acres of Land as by the Patent thereof to the said John Chalmers bearing date the Tenth day of August One Thousand Seven hundred forty and four may appear with a Provisoe that he the said John Chalmers should pay and satisfy unto him the said Christopher Lowndes the said Sum of Nine Pounds nine Shillings Sterling and Twenty five Pounds four Shillings Currency with the legal Interest that the same Deed should be Null & Void Now this Indenture Witnesseth that Whereas the said Charles Carroll hath paid and satisfyed unto him the said Christopher Lowndes at and before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the Sum of Eleven Pounds eighteen (Shillings) |
