340) James Tilghman the Receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledged Have Remised Released and for ever Quit Claimed and by these Presents Do Remise Release and for ever Quit Claim unto the said James Tilghman in his Peaceable and Quiet Possession thereof now being and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever All my Estate Right Title Interest Claim and Demand of in and to the afsd Parcel of Land with the Appurtenances To have and to hold the Released Premisses with the proper Use and behoof of the said James Tilghman his Heirs and Assigns for ever Witness my hand and Seal this 23.d day of February in the Year of our Lord 1753 Sealed and Delivered before Jn.o Brice Edm Jenings Seal Maryland Sc.t Feb 23.d 1753 Then the within named Edmund Jennings Esq Personally Acknowledged the within Deed and the Lands therein mentioned with the Appurtenances to the within named James Tilghman his Heirs and Assigns to his and their proper Use and Behoof for ever according to the form & Effect of the same Deed, Before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court Recorded the 23.d day of February 1753 Jn.o Brice 4 sides Ex.d This Indenture made the third Day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and fifty two Between George Gordon of Frederick County Gentl and James Dick of Ann Arundale County Merchant both in the Province of Maryland of the one part and Henry Threlkeld of Frederick County afs.d Merchant of the other part Whereas Benjamin Stoddart Gent by his Deed Indented and duly Executed on the eighteenth day of August One Thousand seven hundred and forty six did Convey and make over to the s.d George Gordon and his Heirs four hundred Acres of Land to be laid off on the South end of that Six hundred Acres of Land being the Dividend or part belonging to the s.d Benjamin Stoddart of a Tract called Friendship being now in Frederick County formerly lying in Prince Georges County the said Tract being Originally Granted to Coll.o Thomas Addison and James Stoddert And Whereas the said George Gordon by his Deed Indented and duly Executed on the Twenty seventh day of December in the Year One Thousand seven hundred and fifty did Convey and make over the above mentioned four hundred Acres of Land to the s.d James Dick Attorney in Fact to William Black Merchant in London for certain Uses Trusts & Purposes mentioned and expressed in the said Deed referrence being thereunto had which will more fully appear Now this Indenture Witnesseth That the s.d George Gordon and James Dick for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and twenty six Pounds ten Shillings Lawfull Money of Great Britain to them in hand paid by the said Henry Threlkeld the receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge and (thereof) |
