323) there on my behalf to Answer Defend and Reply unto all Actions Causes Matters and things whatsoever relating to the Premisses with full Power to make Substitute one or more Attorneys under him my said Attorney and the same again at Pleasure to revoke And Generally to say to Act Transact Determine Accomplish and finish all matters and things whatsoever relating to the Premisses as fully amply and effectually to all Intents and Purposes as I the said Constituent myself ought or might Personally altho' the matter should require more Special Authority then I herein Comprised I the said Constituant Ratifying Allowing and holding firm and Valid all and whatsoever my said Attorney or either of his Substitutes shall Lawfully do or cause to be done in and about the Premisses by Virtue of these Presents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty two Sealed and Delivered In the Presence of Cod.r Carrington Seal Jn.o Jones, Frederick Dorsey On the Back of the aforegoing Power of Attorney was thus Endorsed Viz.t John Jones Aged about thirty Years and Frederick Dorsey Aged Eighteen Years both Subscribing Witnesses to the within Power of Attorney being duly Sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God Do severally Depose and say that they did respectively see the within named Codrington Carrington Sign Seal and Deliver the within Power of Attorney and heard him declare the same as his Act and Deed for the Uses within Power of Attorney and heard the Deponents did at the same time set their Respective Names hereto ^as Witnesses^ and that the Names John Jones and Frederick Dorsey thereto set as Witnesses are of the proper hand 5 Writing the Deponents respectively Sworn the 20.th May 1752 before me Jn.o Brice Recorded Oct.r 18.th 1752 Ex.d This Indenture Made this Twenty ninth day of August in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and fifty two Between Doctor Andrew Scott of Baltimore County on the one part and M.r James Wardrop Merch.t of Prince Georges County both of the Province of Maryland on the other part Witnesseth that the said Andrew Scott for and in Consideration of the sum of seventy Pounds due to him by my bond due to him Sixteen Months before the date hereof and five shillings in hand paid by the said James Wardrop the Receipt whereof the said Andrew Scott doth hereby Acknowledge He the said Andrew Scott hath granted Bargained and sold Aliened released and Confirmed and by these Presents doth bargain Grant and Sell alien release and Confirm unto the said James Wardrop his heirs and Assigns for ever all that Tract or Parcell of Land called Saturn lying and being in Frederick County Containing Two hundred Acres more or Less As also all that Parcell or Tract of Land called Venus lying in foresaid County Contained Two hundred Acres more or less still reserving to the Adventurers in the Coper Mine upon Venus their Respective Shares and Dividends as heretofore agreed upon together with all and Singular the Appurtenances thereunto belonging As also all the Right Interest Title and Claim whatsoever of him the said Andrew Scott his heirs and Assigns of in and to the said Premisses and every part and Parcell thereof To have and to hold the said two Tracts of Land called Saturn and Venus with the above Exceptions and every part thereof unto the said James Wardrop his heirs and Assigns for ever and the said Andrew Scott for himself and his heirs and against all and every Person and Persons Whatsoever Claiming by from or under him or them to the said James Wardrop his heirs and Assigns shall and will warrant and for ever Defend by these Presents In Witness Whereof the said Andrew Scott to these Presents hath set his hand and seal day and Year above Written Signed Sealed & Delivered in Presents of Andr Scott seal Jn.o Brice David Ross |
