308) and confirming unto their said Attorneys or either of them all and whatsoever they or either of them shall do or cause to be done by force hereof In Witness whereof the said William Tower Bartholomew Pomeroy and Joseph Janson have hereunto put their Hands and seals the fourteenth Day of February in the Twenty fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of Our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Fifty Two Sealed and delivered (being first William Tower seal duly stampt) in the presence of us David Ross of Bladenburgh in the Barth Pomeroy seal Province of Maryland Merchant being Jos.h Janson seal first Joined and Made an Attorney in this present Deed Ch.s Hammond Jun.r Isaac Johns Walter Scott At the foot of the aforegoing Power of Attorney was thus Written Viz.t Annapolis 14.th September 1752 in Maryland There may Certify that on the above day came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of Anne Arundel County Court Charles Hammond Jun.r and Isaac Johns two of the subscribing Witnesses to the above Power of Attorney and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that they saw William Tower Bartholomew Pomeroy and Joseph Janson, seal and Deliver the Above Power of Attorney for the Uses therein mentioned, and likewise made Oath, that they saw Walter Scott, the third Evidence subscribe his Name to the same Th Jennings 13 s.ds Recorded Sept.r 18.th 1752 Ex.d This Indenture made on the Twentieth day of July in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty two Between Joseph Chew of Prince Georges County Gentleman of the one part and John Goddart of the same County Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Joseph Chew for and in Consideration of five Shillings Current Money of this Province of Maryland to him before the Sealing and Delivery hereof by the said Goddart the Receipt whereof the said Joseph Chew doth Acknowledge and to the end and purpose that the said John Goddart may become and made a perfect Tenant to the Precipee against whom a Common Recovery may be had in the Lands and Tenements hereafter mentioned hath Granted Bargained & Sold and by these Presents doth for himself and his Heirs Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said John Goddart All that Tract or Parcel of Land called Yarrow lying and being in Prince Georges County on the North side of the Eastern Branch and at the head of the said Branch Beginning at a Bounded White Oak the North East Corner Tree of William Thompsons Land and running North North West five hundred Perches to a marked Oak then East One hundred and sixty Perches to a marked (Hickory) |
