296) Sarah his Wife Have Constituted Ordained Appointed and in their stead and places put and by these Presents Do Constitute Ordain Appoint and in their stead and places put Edmund Jenings of the said Province of Maryland Esquire their true and lawfull Attorney for them and each of them and in their and each of their Names to Acknowledge these Presents to be the Act and Deed of them the said William Woodward Mary Holmes Benjamin Baron and Elizabeth his Wife Cornelius Kehown and Sarah his Wife and the Lands & Premisses herein before mentioned to be the Estate Right and Title of him the said Philip Stoops his Heirs and Assigns according to the Act of Assembly in that Province in such Cases made and Provided they the said William Woodward Mary Holmes Benjamin Baron and Elizabeth his Wife Cornelius Kehown and Sarah his Wife hereby Ratifying and Confirming whatsoever their said Attorney shall do in that behalf by force and Virtue of these Presents as fully as if they the said William Woodward Mary Holmes Benjamin Baron and Elizabeth his Wife Cornelius Kehown and Sarah his Wife had been Personally present doing the same In Witness whereof the Partys first above named have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and Year first above Written W.m Seal Woodward Mary Seal Holmes Eliz Seal Baron On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed (Viz.t) Signed Sealed and Delivered In the Presence of John Moffatt Philemon Young 1752 June 15.th Then Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordship the Right Honble the Lord Propry his Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland John Moffatt one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within Deed and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he saw William Woodward Mary Holmes and Elizabeth Baron Severally sign Seal and as their and each of their Act and Acts Deed and Deeds deliver the within Instrument of Writing to and for the Uses within mentioned and that he this Deponent Subscribed his Name as Witnesses thereto and that at the same time he saw Philemon Young the other Subscribing Evidence sign as a Witness thereto Sworn to the day and year aforesaid Before John Hepburn 30.th July 1752 Then Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland the within named Edmund Jenings Esq.r and by Virtue of the within Power of Attorney for and in the Name & Names of the within mentioned William Woodward Mary Holmes and Elizabeth Baron and every of them Acknowledged the within Deed to be the Act and Deed of them the said William Woodward Mary Holmes & Elizabeth Baron and every of them and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the 9 1/2 Estate and Title of the within named Philip Stoops his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Taken and Acknowledged the day and Year aforesaid Recorded September 2.d 1752 Before Jn.o Brice Ex.d This Indenture made this Second Day of September in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred fifty and two Between Martin Wetsel of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland Farmer on the one part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Merchant on the other part Witnesseth that the said Martin Wetsel for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred and five Pounds Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid and satisfyed at and before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents Hath Given (Granted) |
