250) thereon or thereto in any wise belonging or appertaining To have and to hold unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever to his and their proper Use and behoof and to no other Use Purport or Intention whatsoever the said Tract of Land called Walnutt Levell with its Appurtenances And the said Richard Snowden doth Covenant and Agree with the said Charles Carroll that he the said Charles his Heirs and Assigns for ever shall and may have hold and Enjoy the said Land and Premisses Warranted and Defended as well against him the said Richard Snowden or any by from or under him Claiming as against all manner of Persons or Claims whatsoever Saving the Quit Rents hereafter arising due to the Lord Proprietary In Witness whereof & the foregoing Premisses the parties to these Presents have Interchangeably set their hands and Seals the day and Year first above Written Sealed and Delivered Rich.d Snowden Seal in the Presence of J Bordley On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Sam.l Middleton Endorsed Viz.t Received the day of the date of the within Written Indenture of the within named Charles Carroll the Sum of Twenty Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain (being the full Consideration Money within mentioned to be paid to me Witness I say received P Rich.d Snowden J Bordley Sam.l Middleton The within Deed was this 16.th April 1752 Acknowledged before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court by Richard Snowden according to Law Jn.o Brice April the 16.th 1752 Received of Doct.r Charles Carroll two Shillings Sterling for his Lordships Use (it being the Alienation Fine on the within mentioned Fifty Acres of Land) by Virtue of a Commission from Benjamin Tasker Esq.r his said Lordships 5 Agent and Receiver General Rich.d Dorsey Recorded April 16.th 1752 Ex.d Maryland fs.t This Indenture made this Ninth day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty two Between John Dorsey of Saint Marys County in the Province aforesaid Gentleman of the one part and John Baker of the County and Province aforesaid Planter of the other part Whereas the said John Dorsey in September Term last past did Commence Prosecute and bring One Writ of Entry Sur Disseisin against the said John Baker thereby demanding all that Tract or Parcel of Land called Drapers Neck lying and being on the West side of Chesepeck Bay in Saint Marys County afsd Beginning at a Bounded White Oak standing near the side of a Marsh called the Northern Marsh thence running up the Bay North North West nearest unto a Marsh called Clockers Marsh the length of three hundred and six Perches to a Gum Tree thence running West South West into the Woods with the Land of the said Clockers the length of Two hundred Sixty and one Perches to a Spanish Oak Bounded and standing near a small (Branch) |
