249) Agreed to Sell unto the following Persons the Parcels of Land herein after mentioned for the Consideration herein after also expressed Viz.t to Peter Middlecalf Two hundred and forty seven Acres part of Digges's Choice for the Sum of One hundred and twenty Pounds Current Money To Andrew Shriver One hundred and thirty six Acres for the Sum of One hundred Pounds Current Money And Whereas the said John Digges hath in Pursuance of his said Agreement and Sale conveyed unto the said Peter Middlecalf and Andrew Shriver the Lands above mentioned for the Consideration above expressed Now this present Instrument or Deed of Release doth Witness That I Charles Carroll for myself my Heirs Exors Admors and Assigns Do Quit Claim and Release unto the said Peter Middlecalf and Andrew Shriver the above mentioned Lands so as aforesaid Convey'd to them by the said John Digges To have and to hold unto them the said Peter Middlecalf and Andrew Shriver the Parcels of Land before mentioned and to their Heirs for ever according to the true Intent and meaning of the aforesaid Deeds executed by the said John Digges In Witness whereof & the foregoing Premisses the said Charles Carroll hath hereunto set his hand and Affixed his Seal this fourteenth day of April Anno Domini 1752 Sealed and Delivered in the Presence of Charles Carroll Jun.r Char.les Carroll Seal W.m Baker On the Back of the aforegoing Release was thus Endorsed Viz.t 1752. April 14.th Then Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court Charles Carroll and Acknowledged the within Deed according to the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided Recorded April 14.th 1752 Geo Steuart 3 This Indenture made this sixteenth day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty two between Richard Snowden of Ann Arundel County Iron Master on the one part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Surgeon on the other part Witnesseth That the said Richard Snowden for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by him the said Charles Carroll the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Tract of Land called Walnutt Levell Granted ^un^to him the said Richard Snowden the fourteenth day of December in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty nine Situate and being in Frederick County Beginning at a Bounded Hickory standing on a Hill side between Antieatom and the Mountains and running thence North forty six Perches then East One hundred and twenty six Perches then South thirty Degrees West One hundred and thirty five Perches then by a streight line to the beginning Tree Containing and laid out for fifty Acres of Land more or less together with all and singular the Buildings Improvements and Appurtenances thereon or (thereto) |
