       Certify that on the day of the date hereof Personally came and appeared before me Richard
       Guy of Chancery Land London Gentleman being a Person well known and worthy of good
       Credit and did by Solemn Oath which he took upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God
       Solemnly Declared Testify and Depose to be True the several matters and things contained in the
       Affidavit hereunto Annexed

                In Faith and Testimony whereof I the said Mayor have caused the
                Seal of the Office of Mayoralty ^of the said City of London^ to be hereunto put and Affixed and the Paper
       Seal  Writing mentioned in the said Affidavit to be also hereunto Annexed Dated
                in London the Twentieth Day of August in the Twenty fifth Year of the
                Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God King of
                Great Britain France and Ireland Defender of the Faith and in the
8              Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Fifty one

Ex.d To all to whom these Presents shall come Greeting Whereas
       The Right Honourable Frederick Lord Baltimore Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Province
       of Maryland in America and the Right Honourable Arthur Onslow Esquire and John
       Sharpe Esquire Guardians of the said Lord Baltimore on his behalf by Virtue of the Powers
       in the Letters Patent from King Charles the first to Cæcilius Baron of Baltimore his
       Heirs and Assigns of the Province of Maryland &c.a Have by Instrument in Writing under
       their hand and Seals Dated the seventeenth day of August One Thousand Seven hundred and
       fifty one duly appointed the Honourable Cæcilius Calvert Esquire to exercise the Office of Secretary
       of the Province of Maryland aforesaid during their Pleasure with full Power to Appoint a
       sufficient Deputy and also Impowering him or his Sufficient Deputy to be present at all meetings
       of the Governor and Council and of the Assemblys in that Province and to keep an exact Register
       of all their Acts Proceedings and Orders and to do and perform all other Acts Usually done by
       the former Secretarys of the Province aforesaid with further Power to him or his Deputy to take
       to themselves the Advantage of Granting Ordinary Licences in the said Province which did
       theretofore belong to the said Office of Secretary and to receive all such other Perquisites Fees
       and Advantages whatsoever to the said Office of Secretary belonging or Appertaining in as
       full and ample manner as any Person or Persons theretofore have held or Enjoyed or ought to
       have hold and Enjoyed the same as in and by the said Instrument of Appointment relation
       being thereunto had may more fully appear   Now Know Yee That I Francis
       Cæcilius Calvert Reposing great Trust and Confidence in the faithfullness Experience and
       Ability of Edmond Jennings of the said Province of Maryland Esquire Have Ordained
       Constituted Appointed Deputed and made and by these Presents Do Ordain Constitute
       Appoint Depute and make the said Edmond Jennings my true and Lawfull Deputy in and
       for Executing of the said Office and place and all other the Premisses in and by the said
       Instrument of Appointment to me Granted for so long time as I shall think fit And I do
       hereby Give and Grant unto the said Edmond Jennings full Power and Authority to
       Execute the said Office and place and other the Premisses and to receive and take
