234) the same to be to the Uses therein mentioned and that they did Severally set their Names as Witnesses thereto in each others Presence and that their respective Names thereto set are of their respective hand Writing John Inch Sworn before me one of his Lordships Justices Bordley of the Provincial Court (the Word (the) being first Interlined) Robert Gordon November the 19.th 1751 Alexander Lawson, William Lyon and Richard Croxall the Subscribers Witnesses to the Execution of the within Deed do for themselves Severally Depose and say that they did See the within Named Laurence Washington Sign Seal and Deliver the within Deed or Writing and did hear him declare the same to be to the Uses therein mentioned and that they did Severally set their Names as Witnesses thereto in each others Presence and that their respective Names thereto set are of their Respective hand Writing Alexand Lawson Sworn before Us two of his Lordships Justices of Baltimore County Court the Word (did) being first Wil Lyon Interlined Cha.s Ridgely Lyde Goodwin R.d Croxall 35 Recorded Dec.r 14.th 1751 Ex.d This Indenture made this 19.th Day of June Anno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty one Between Thomas Lucas of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland Bricklayer of the one part and Jacob Holland of Prince Georges County and Province afs.d Farmer of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Lucas for and in Consideration of the Sum of Eight Thousand five hundred Pounds of good Sound Merchantable leaf Tobacco [illegible] to him in hand paid by the said Jacob Holland the Receipt whereof the said Thomas Lucas doth hereby Acknowledge and himself to be therewith fully satisfyed Contented and paid and thereof and therefrom doth Acquit & Discharge the said Jacob Holland his Heirs and Assigns forever Hath Given Granted Bargained and Sold and by these Presents Doth Give Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said Jacob Holland his Heirs & Assigns a certain Parcel or Tract of Land called the Locust Thickett lying in Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Beginning at a Bounded Spanish Oak standing on the West side of Patuxent River near the Line of a Tract of Land called Batsons Vineyard and near a great Marsh running thence South West One hundred and fifty Perches thence North Twenty eight Degrees West fifty seven Perches thence West One hundred and thirty five Perches thence North One hundred and twenty six Perches thence North Fifty four Degrees East One hundred and eight Perches thence with a Streight line to the first Bounded Tree Containing and laid out for Two hundred and twenty five Acres of Land more or less Together with all Woods Underwoods Timber and Timber Trees Houses Orchards Gardens Fences and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said Land belonging or in any wide appertaining To have and to hold the said Two hundred and twenty five Acres of Land called Locust Thickett as aforesaid with all and singular the Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Jacob Holland his Heirs and Assigns for ever and the said Thomas Lucas for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth Covenant and Agree to and with the said Jacob Holland his Heirs and Assigns that the said Thomas Lucas his Heirs Executors and Adm.rs the said Granted Land called Locust Thickett Containing two hundred and twenty five Acres as aforesaid unto the said Jacob Holland his Heirs and Assigns shall and will forever Warrant and Defend by these Presents and ^also^ shall and will at the request and at Cost and (Charges) |
