       Land Fine Soiled Forrest North Sixty three Degrees West Eighty one
       Perches then North Six Degrees West Sixty two Perches then North fifty two Degrees
       West Ninety five Perches then North twenty one Degrees West Seventy two Perches
       then North forty Degrees East one Hundred thirty and Six Perches then North One
       Hundred Perches then by a direct Line to the first Bounded Trees which said four
       Hundred and fifty Acres so Contained within the Bounds afs.d and the abovementioned
       Land called Hunters Chance amount in the whole to nine Hundred and fifty Acres
       together with all and Singular the Premisses and Appurtenances thereunto belonging
       or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the afs.d Nine Hundred and
       fifty Acres of Land so Butted and Bounded as afs.d together with all and Singular
       the Premisses unto the same or any part thereof and every the Appurtenances thereunto
       ^belonging^ unto him the said Abell Brown his Heirs and Assigns for Ever to the only proper use and
       Behoofe of him the said Abell Brown his Heirs and Assigns for Ever And it is
       Covenanted and granted by and Between the said Parties that he the said Philip
       Hammond and his Heirs the afs.d Nine Hundred and fifty Acres of Land with all &
       Singular the Premisses and Appurtenances thereunto Belonging unto him the said
       Abell Brown his Heirs and Assigns for Ever from and against him the said
       Philip Hammond his Heirs and Assigns and from and against all manner of
       Persons that may lay any Claim thereto by from or under him them or any of them shall
       and will Warrant and for Ever ^hereafter^ Defend by these Presents And that he the said
       Philip Hammond and his Heirs shall and will at the Request of the said
       Abell Brown his Heirs or Assigns and at the Cost of him the said Abell his
       Heirs or Assigns make do or suffer to be done any other further Reasonable
       Act or Acts thing or things whatsoever for the better Suretie and Suremaking of
       the afs.d Nine Hundred and fifty Acres of Land unto him the said Abell Brown his
       Heirs and Assigns as by him or them his or their Councill shall be Reasonably Devised
       Advised or required In Witness whereof he the Partie first above mentioned hath
       hereunto set his hand and Affixed his Seal the day and Year before above written

       17.th Oct.r 1749   Memorand.m That then came Philip Hammond and acknowledged the
       within Instrument as his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein Contained to
       be the Right and Estate of the within named Abell Brown his Heirs and Assigns for
       Ever according to the true intent and meaning of the same Deed and the Act of
       Assembly in such Cases made and Provided And at the same time Rachel the Wife
       of the said Philip being privately Examined out of the hearing of her said Husband
       Declared that she gave up all her Right and Title of in and to the said Lands
       unto him the said Abell Brown his Heirs and Assigns freely and Willingly and
       without any fear of threats or the Displeasure of her said Husband before me the
