218) Nov 15.th 1751 Received of M.r Michael Crager Seven Shillings and Seven pence half Penny Sterling for his Lordships Use (it being the Alienation fine on the within mentioned One hundred and ninety Acres of Land) by Virtue of a Commission from Benjamin Tasker Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Rich.d Dorsey 8 Recorded Nov.r 15.th 1751 Ex.d This Indenture made this 13.th day of November in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand seven hundred fifty and one Between Thomas Morris Grand Son and Heir of Robert Morris of Ann Arundel County deceased on the one part and Charles Carroll of Annapolis Merchant on the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Morris for and in Consideration of the sum of eight Pounds Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll All that Tract or Parcel of Land called Hickory Ridge in Baltimore County on Patapsco River containing Fifty Acres formerly Granted unto Robert Morris Grand Father of him the said Thomas Morris together with all the Woods Underwoods Buildings and Appurtenances whatsoever in or upon the said Tract of Land called Hickory Ridge being belonging and appertaining To have and to hold unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns forever and the said Thomas Morris doth Covenant and Agree with him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever shall and may have hold and Enjoy the said Fifty Acres of Land called Hickory Ridge with its Appurtenances Warranted and Defended as well against him the said Thomas Morris as any other Person or Persons from by or under him or his said Grand Father Robert Morris claiming or to claim In Witness whereof the said Partys to these Presents have Interchangeably put their hands and Seals the day and Year first above Written his Sealed and Delivered Thomas T Morris seal in Presence of mark Zach Hood R.d Mackubin On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed (Viz.t) Maryland fs.t November 13.th 1751 Then Came before me the within named Thomas Morris and Acknowledged the within Deed and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within Named Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the Act in that Case made and provided Robert Gordon Received of Charles Carroll eight Pounds Current Money being the Consideration within mentioned this 13.th day of November 1751 his Witness Thomas T Morris Zach Hood R.d Mackubin mark Nov.r 15.th 1751 Received of Doct.r Charles Carroll two Shillings Sterling for his Lordships Use (it being the Alienation Fine on the fifty Acres of Land within mentioned) By Virtue of a Commission from Benjamin Tasker Esq.r his said Lordships Agent & Receiver General Rich.d Dorsey 4 Recorded Nov.r 15.th 1751 |
