212) Currency to be paid to the said Lord Proprietary and his Successors To which Payment well and truly to be made We and every of Us hereby bind ourselves and every of his our and every of our Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and dates this fourth Day of October Anno Domini 1751 The Condition of the above Obligation is such That if the above Bound Benjamin Young George Steuart Esq.rs whilst they shall continue in the Office of Judges and Registers of and in the Land Office shall at their own proper Cost and Charge find a supply of good and sufficient Record Books necessary for the entring up of all matters and things relating to such land Office and shall and will make or cause to be made and entred true legal and perfect Records and Entries according to the Truth and Nature of the matter or thing requiring to be entred or Recorded and shall duly and carefully look after Sustain Preserve Repair and Maintain all the several Books Papers and Records now being and remaining in the said Office as also all those that from time to time during their continuance in the said Office shall be Added thereunto in such manner as that in Case of Death or that they shall be Legally Dismissed from Officiating longer in the said Office they the said Benjamin Young and George Steuart Esquires their Executors or Administrators shall surrender and Deliver up or cause to be Surrendered and Delivered up to the next Person who shall succeed them in the said Land Office all the Papers and Record Books now being in the said Land Office in good order and repair as also all such other Papers and Record Books which shall be by them Added in like good order and repair with the Records and Entries faithfully legally and truly made up and entred during the time they shall Officiate longer in the said Office without Favour or Affection But according to the Truth the Nature of the Thing and the Duty of their Office and all other the Dutys of their said Office legally duly and faithfully shall discharge according to Law and the true Intent and meaning of the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided Then the above Obligation to be Void and of none Effect else to be and remain in full force & Virtue in Law Sealed and Delivered B Young seal in the Presence of Jn.o Brice Geo Steuart seal John Hepburn Clement Hill W Digges seal B Young junior H Roger seal On the back of the aforegoing Bond was thus Endorsed (Viz.t) 19.th October 1761 Then Came the within named Clement Hill and Benjamin Young Junior the Subscribing Witnesses to the within Bond and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God before Us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court that they saw the within named Benjamin Young & George Steuart Esq.rs Execute the within Bond Jn.o Brice John Hepburn You are hereby required immediately to enter the within Bond with the Indorsement thereon in the Provincial Records Pursuant to the directions of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided To M.r Richard Burdus Jn.o Brice Clerk of the Provincial Court John Hepburn 6 Recorded Oct.r 21.st 1751 |
