162) On the back of the aforegoing Mortgage was thus Endorsed (Viz.t) September the 5.th 1751 Received of M.r Edward Dorsey the Sum of Thirty five Pounds Current Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned his Witness Dennis D Ensey Thomas Johnson jun.r mark Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court Dennis Ensey and Acknowledged the within Instrument as his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses within mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the said Edward Dorsey and his Heirs according to the Directions of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Acknowledged before me this fifth day of September 1751 Recorded September 5.th 1751 Robert Gordon 7 Ex.d This Indenture made the eighth day of March in the Twenty fourth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty Between Joseph Nicholson of Chester Town in Kent County in the Province of Maryland Merchant and Hannah his Wife Benjamin Nicholson of the Borough of Berwick upon Tweed in the Kingdom of Great Britain Brewer and Margaret his Wife and Samuel Nicholson of Stockton upon Tease in the County of Durham in the same Kingdom Doctor in Physick and Elizabeth his Wife of the one part and His Excellency Samuel Ogle Esquire Governor of the said Province of Maryland and Benjamin Tasker of the City of Annapolis in the same Province Esquire of the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of five Shillings a Piece of Lawfull Money of Great Britain to the said Joseph Nicholson and Hannah his Wife Benjamin Nicholson and Margaret his Wife Samuel Nicholson and Elizabeth his Wife in hand well and truly paid by the said Samuel Ogle and Benjamin Tasker upon or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged They the said Joseph Nicholson and Hannah his Wife Benjamin Nicholson and Margaret his Wife and Samuel Nicholson and Elizabeth his Wife Have Bargained and Sold and by these Presents Do Bargain and Sell unto the said Samuel Ogle and Benjamin Tasker All that Part of a Tract of Land called Nicholson Maner lying in Baltemore County Containing about four Thousand two Hundred Acres given and bequeathed by William Nicholson late of Ann Arundel County in the said Province of Maryland Merchant Deceased in and by his last Will in Writing bearing Date on or about the Twenty fifth day of September which was in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and nineteen to his Sons the said Benjamin Nicholson and Samuel Nicholson and to Edward Nicholson another of his Sons since deceased to be equally divided between them to them and their Heirs for Ever Together with all Woods Wood lands and Underwoods being Parcel of or Comprised within the said Four Thousand two hundred Acres and with all and singular other the Appurtenances of what Nature or kind soever to the said part of the said Tract of Land and Premisses (belonging) |
