108) Signed and Sealed in the Presents of Us Samuell Bonham Seal her Dad morgan Tamlinson T Bonham Seal Jn.o Giles mark James I Lawson On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed (Viz.t) Received the Day of the date of the Indenture within written of the within Named Henry Garrett the Sum of forty Six Pounds Current Money of the Colony of Virginia being the Consideration within mentioned to be paid by him to Us We say received by Us Samuel Bonham her Tamlinson O Bonham mark I have received for the use of the Right Honble the Lord Propry Twenty shillings Sterling being for the Alienation fine of the within five hundred Acres of Land Benj.a Tasker To which aforegoing Deed was Annexed the following Probat and Acknowledgem.t (Viz.t) John Giles being one of the People called Quakers Affirmeth and saith That on the Seventeenth Day of October Seventeen hundred and fifty Together with David Morgan and James Lawson were present and as Witnesses did see Samuel Bonham and Tamlinson his Wife by the Name & Addition of Samuel Bonham of New Hanover County in the Province of North Carolina and Tamlinson his Wife Sign Seal & Deliver and as their Act and Deed in due form of Law execute and deliver the Deed Indented hereunto Annexed Purporting to be a Deed of Bargain & Sale of a Tract of Land lying in Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland called Carters Rest Containing five hundred Acres and being part of two Tracts of Land called the Expectation and lying in the Fork of Gunpowder River from the said Samuel Bonham & Tamlinson his Wife unto Henry Garrett of Johnston County in the Province of North Carolina to him his Heirs & Assigns forever And this Deponant further saith That the Names David Morgan and James Lawson and John Giles to the said Deed set and Subscribed as Witnesses to the due Execution of the said Deed and the proper hand Writing of him this Deponant and the said David Morgan and James Lawson respectively and were so set and Subscribed at the time of such Execution and in Testimony thereof Jn.o Giles Affirmed this thirtieth Day of November in the Year 1750 Before Jn.o Paca Will.m Smith Then Came before Us the Subscribers two of the Justices of Baltimore County Court Michael Webster and D Scott Attorneys Particularly appointed and Impowered by Samuel Bonham and Tamlesin his Wife to Acknowledge a Deed of Bargain and Sale bearing date the Seventeenth Day of October in the Year Seventeen hundred and fifty to one Henry Garrett according to the Laws of Maryland as by the said Deed and Power of Attorney therein Inserted (hereunto) |
