       Whatsoever well and Sufficiently Warranted and defended as well
       against them the said John Hanson and Jane his Wife or either
       of them or any by from or under them or either ^of them^ or the said Alexander
       Contee Claiming or to Claim In Witness whereof the said
       Parties to these Presents have Interchangeably set their
       Hands and Seals the day and year first above Written

       Received of Charles Carroll the Sum of Thirty five Pounds
       fifteen Shillings & five Pence half Penny the Consideration

       me the Subscriber one of the Provincial Justices of the
       Province of Maryland M.r John Hanson Jun.r of Charles County
       and Jane his Wife and acknowledged the within Deed &
       the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right
       and Estate of Charles Carroll of Annapolis Chyrurgeon
       his Heirs and Assigns for Ever And the said Jane being privately
       Examined apart from her said Husband declared that she
       made the said Acknowledgment freely and Willingly and
       without any threats or Compulsion of her said Husband or
       Fear of his Displeasure according to the Act of Assembly in that
8     case made and Provided                        Geo Dent
