       Sealed & Delivered (being first
       legally Stampt) in the Presence of
       Jn.o Lomas          Rich.d Smith
       Matt.w Johnson   Lyde Goodwin

       On the back of the aforegoing Power of Attorney was thus Endorsed
       (Viz.t) October 22.d 1748, Then came before me the Subscriber one
       of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court John Lomas and
       made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he
       saw the within mentioned William Whetstone Sign Seal and
       Execute the within Power of Attorney and at the same time
       he saw the several other Persons sign the same as Evidences
                                     Taken and Sworn to before me Henry Hooper

       Baltimore County fs.t November 11.th 1748 Came Lyde Goodwin
       one of the Subscribing Evidences to the within Power of Attorney
       and made Oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God
       that he saw the within mentioned William Whetstone Sign
       Seal and Deliver the same as his Act and Deed Sworn before
       the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices for said County

Ex.d This Indenture made this Eighth day of December in
       the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and forty Eight
       Between Charles Hammond of Ann Arundell County Esq.r of the
       one part And Robert Gray of Ann Arundel County Planter
       of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Hammond
       for and in Consideration of the Rents and Covenants herein
       after mentioned Hath Demised set and to farm let unto
       the said Robert Gray the Plantation and Tenements whereon
       the said Robert Gray now Dwells Containing Two hundred
       and fifty Acres of Land with the Appurtenances in the said
