491) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorst (Viz.t) August 20.th 1748/ Then Reced of John Hood of Annar.l County in the Province of Maryland the Sum of Seventeen Pounds Current Money being the Purchase Money of the within mentioned Land I say Rec.d P his Witness Joshua I B Barnes Alex.r Warfield son of Rich.d mark Ann Arundel County Aug.t 20.th 1748/ Then came before us Two of his Lordships Justices of Ann Arundel County the within Named Joshua Barnes and Acknowledged the within Indenture to be his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within Named John hood his Heirs and Assigns forever And at the same time came Ruth the Wife of the said Joshua Barnes who being by us privately Examined out of the hearing of her said Husband freely Acknowledged that she gave Consent and gave up all her Right and Title of Dower to the within mentioned Land & Premisses to the John Hood his Heirs and Assigns forever without any Threats or fear of the displeasure of her said Husband Taken and Acknowledged before us the day & Year above Written Alex.r Warfield Son of Rich.d John Howard Son Benj.a Reced of John Hood for the Use of the Right Honble the Lord Baltimore two Shil.s & seven pence Sterl being for the Alienation Fine of the within Sixty four Acres of Land this 19 Sept.r 1748 8 Benj.a Tasker Recorded Sept.r 19.th 1748 |
