454) mentioned One hundred Acres of Land) by Virtue of a Commission from Benjamin Tasker Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General 6 Sides Rich.d Dorsey Recorded June 15.th 1748 Ex.d Maryland fs This Indenture made the 18.th day of June Anno Domini One Thousand Seven hundred forty and Eight Between William Cavenough of S.t Marys County Gent Grandson and Heir at Law to George Thompson Gent deceased late of the af.d County of the one part and James Smith of Trinity Mannor in the County af.d of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Cavenough for and in Consideration of the sum of the sum of Forty pounds Sterling Money by the said James by the said James Smith to him the said William Cavenough in hand paid the Receipt thereof he the said William Cavenough doth acknowledge and himself therewith Contented and paid hath Given Granted Bargained & Sold & by these presents doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto him the said James Smith his Heirs and Assigns for Ever all his the said William Cavenough Right Title and Interest in and unto Certain Tracts of Land lying on the Eastern side of Chesepeak Bay called or known by the name of Thompsons Islands Being all the Island or Broken Lands or Hammucks of Wood Lands lying in the Marshes Lying on the Eastern side of Chesepeak Bay Between the Straits of the said Bay and Transquaking Bay of and the middle Straits of the said Bays Running by a Parcell of Islands called Kedgers Islands Excepting the Islands of Thomas Courtney and Thomas Tayler on the South & East with Kedgers Islands & the Eastern Bay Containing by Estimation five hundred Acres more or less as by Patent bearing date August the Twenty third Sixteen hundred Seventy (Two) |
