       from any Damage the said William Thornton may sustain by
       Occasion of the Premisses af.d Now this Indenture Witnesseth
       that the said Nathan Todd in Order to Indemnifie and save
       harmless the said William Thornton from any Cost or damages
       the said William Thornton his Executors Administrators
       or Assigns may be put to on Account of his the said William
       becoming Bail to the said Action as also to secure unto the
       said William Thornton the payment of Three Thousand
       Eight hundred and forty pounds of Tobacco and also the sum of
       forty shillings Currency Value of him Received Hath Bargained
       Sold and made over and by these presents Doth Grant
       Bargain Sell and make over unto the said William
       Thornton his Heirs and Assigns for ever One Tract of Land
       called Rebeccah's Lott Containing one hundred acres with all
       the Appurtenances thereunto belonging with all and
       Singular the Houses out Houses and Improvements
       and also one Mulatto Boy called Jeffrey Two feather Beds
       and furniture two Cows and Calves Two stears and Thirty
       head of Hogs and all their Future Increase to have and to
       hold the said ^Tract of^ Land called Rebeccah's Lott & Premisses with the
       Appurtenances and the Negroe af.d with the sundry Goods
       Chattels and Cattle with their several Increase af.d unto
       him his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns to ^the only proper use and behoof of the s.d W.m Thornton his Heirs & Assigns and to^ no
       other use intent or purpose Whatsoever provided Nevertheless
       and it is the True Intent and meaning of these presents
       and the partys that in Case the said Nathan Todd shall
       save and keep harmless the said William Thornton his Heirs
       and Assigns from all Damages and Cost on his becoming
       Bail to the above mentioned Action and also pay unto the
       said William Thornton his Heirs or assigns the sum of Three
       Thousand Eight hundred and forty pounds of Tobacco and forty
       Shillings Currency with Legal Interest for the same at or
       upon the first day of July next Ensuing then this Deed to
