420) Be it Remembered that on the Tenth day of May 1748 the within Deed was acknowledged according to Act of Assembly By Philip Crever party thereto And that Charlotte Frederica his Wife being privately Examined apart from her s.d Husband acknowledged and declared that she freely and Volantary Relinquished all Rights Title and Claim of Dower to the within Land and that she was not Compelled thereunto by Coertion of her s.d Husband or fear of his Displeasure Jn.o Cooke Tho Owen 14 May 1748 Rec.d for the use of the Right Honble the Lord Propry four Shill.s Ster.l being for the Alienat.o Fine of the Within One hundred acres of Land Benj Tasker Recorded May 16.th 1748 Ex.d This Indenture made this Second Day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and forty Eight Between Nathan Todd of Ann Arundell County Planter of the one part and William Thornton of the same County Sheriff of the other part Whereas the said Nathan Todd hath been Arrested by the said William Thornton by Virtue of his Lordships Writ of Capias Adrespondendum Issued out of the County Court of Ann Arundell at the Suit of a Certain Cap.t John Dorsey Jun.r for the Sum of Seven pounds fourteen shillings Sterling and Whereas the said Nathan Todd has Supplicated the said William Thornton to become his Baile to the said Action upon his giving him Good Sufficient Security so as to Indemnifie the said William Thornton and his Goods Chattels Lands & Tenements (from) |
