38) Charles Carroll hereby release & for Quit claim of in & to all & every the Lands so mortgaged as aforesaid unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs & Assignes for ever To have & to hold the said Lands & every of them with all my right & Title whatsoever of in & to the Lands af.d unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs & Assignes for Ever In Witnesseth whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Seal this twenty Ninth Day of October Anno Domini 1744 Sealed & Delivered Tho.s Butler Seal in the Presence of Jn.o Darnall On the back of the aforegoing release Ign.s Digges was thus Endorst (Viz.t) Octo 29.th 1744 Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordship's Provincial Justices the within named Thomas Butler & acknowledged the Premisses within mentioned to be the right of the within named Charles Carroll Esq.r recorded March 5.th 1744 John Darnall 3 Ex.d This Indenture made this twenty Eighth Day of February in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred and forty and four Between Ann Parr of Talbot County in the Province of Maryland Widow heretofore called Ann King one of the Daughters and Devisees of John King late of the same County deceased and Nathaniel Wright of the City of Philadelphia James eldest Son of Solomon Wright late of Queen Ann's County in the Province afs.d and Elizabeth his Wife which said Elizabeth was another of the Daughters and Devisees of the same John King of the one part and Thomas Wilkinson of Queen Ann's County in the Province afs.d Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the same Ann Parr and Nathaniel Wright for and in Consideration of the sum of five Shillings Current money of Maryland af.d to them in hand paid by the afs.d Thomas Wilkinson the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for divers other Good Causes and Considerations them thereunto moving Have Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents do and each of them doth grant Bargain and Sell unto the said Thomas Wilkinson and his Assigns all that Tract or Parcel of Land with the appurtenances called Howards Gift lying Scituate and being formerly in Cecil County but now in Kent County in the Province afs.d at the head of a Creek called Farley Creek Beginning at a marked Poplar Tree Standing on the south side of a Branch Called Poplar Branch being the Northermost bounds of a Tract of Land taken up for Elias King and William Harris called by the name of Poplar Farm and running from the said Tree North North West one hundred and fifty Pches and from thence with a line Drawn East North East three hundred and Twenty Perches and then with a line drawn from the end of the East North East line South South East one hundred and fifty Pches and from thence with a streight line down to the aforementioned Poplar Tree Standing on the south side of Poplar Branch (containing) |
