37) Memorandum that on the 6 Day of February Seventeen hundred & forty four came Elizabeth Lloyd Party to the within Deed before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices for Baltimore County & acknowledged the within Deed to be her Act & the Land & premisses therein mentioned to be the right Title & estate of the within mentioned Charles Carroll his heirs & Assigns for ever according to the Directions of an Act of Assembly of this Province acknowledged before us Rich.d Caswell Tho.s Franklin Febry the 6 1744 Then rec.d Twelve Shillings Sterling for an Alienation fine of the within Land for the use of the Lord Baltimore by Order of Benj.a Tasker Esq.r Recorded March the 4 1744 Tho.s Franklin 9 1/2 Ex.d To all Christian People to whom this Present Writing indented shall Come Greeting Know Yee that whereas Joyce Bradford of Prince Georges County Widow hath heretofore mortgaged two parcells of Land unto Charles Carroll Esq.r the one called Plain Dealing Containing Five hundred Acres & lying in Prince Georges County the other Containing Two hundred & fifty Acres being Part of a Tract of Land called Uncles Good Will & lying in Baltimore County as by the said Mortgage recorded in the Provincial Records Lib B L L N.o 8 folio 373 may appear Now be it known that I Tho.s Butler Son & Heir at Law to the said Joyce Bradford being entitled to the Equity of Redemption of the Lands so mortgaged have agreed with the said Charles Carroll to release all my right & title to the Equity of Redemption of the said Lands or any of them so as af.d mortgaged to the said Charles Carroll I Do therefore for me & my Heirs in Consideration of Five Shillings to me paid by the said (Charles) |
