257) seal In premissorum fidem William Tudman Not.s Pub.s At the foot of the aforegoing Power of Attorney was thus written (Viz.t) Prince Geo County July 19.th 1746 Then M.r Osborn Sprigg made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for the aboves.d County that he saw the before named Jasper Mauduit Israel Mauduit and Thomas Wright to Signe and Execute the above Power of Attorney sworn before 6 Recorded April 16.th 1747 George Scott Ex.d This Indenture made the twentieth day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty Seven Between George Scott of Prince Georges County Merchant of the one part and Richard Bennett ^of Queen Annes County^ Esquire of the other part Witnesseth that the said George Scott for and in Consideration of four hundred and Twenty Pounds Sterling money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said Richard Bennett the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged Hath given Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents doth Give Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said Richard Bennett all those four hundred and twenty Eight Acres of Land being part of a tract of Land in Prince Georges County called Friendship Containing Eight hundred and fifty six Acres in all which same four hundred and twenty eight Acres were sold and Conveyed by Andrew Scott of the said County to the said George Scott by Deed of Bargain and Sale duly Executed and Acknowledged and Recorded in the land Records in Prince Georges County as by the Deed thereof may appear together with all Buildings Improvements Profits Commodities and Advantages thereunto belonging To have & to hold the said Bargained Premisses with the Appurtenances to him the said Richard Bennett his Heirs and Assigns forever to his and their own use Profit Benefit and and behoof forever more and to no Other Use Intent or Purpose Whatsoever And the said George Scott for himself and his Heirs doth Covenant Grant and agree to and with the said Richard Bennett his Heirs and Assigns that he the said George Scott att the time of the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents |
