Ex.d Maryland fs Know all men by these presents that I John Magier
       of Great Britain Mariner have made Ordained Constituted & appointed
       and by these presents do make Ordain Constitute and Appoint Captain
       Darby Lux of the Province of Maryland and my true and Lawfull Attry
       for me and in my Name within the Province of Maryland and for
       any use to ask demand sue for recover and receive all such sum or sums
       of money and Tobacco Goods Wares and Merchandizes of what kind
       soever ^as^ are due to me within the said Province of Maryland from any
       person whatsoever that I therein are to me due Giving and Granting
       unto my said Attorney by these presence my Lawfull power and
       Strength to have use and take all Lawfull ways and means in
       my Name for the recovery of any Debts due to me ^&^ on the recovery &
       receipt sufficient discharges for me and in my name to make &
       Seal and deliver and all other things whatsoever relating to the
       Premisses to Act ^do^ and perform as fully and amply to all Intents and
       Purposes ^whatsoever^ as if I my self were personally present or if the
       matters before mentioned require more power then is hereby before
       by me given I do hereby impower the said Darby Lux to Constitute
       one or more Attorney or Attorneys under him and the said power by
       him to them given at Pleasure to revoke ratifying allowing and
       Confirming by these presents whatsoever my said Attorney shall
       Lawfully do about the Premisses by virtue hereof In Witness
       whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13.th day of
       October Anno Domini 1743
