       for Prince Georges County and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act
       and deed according to Act of Assembly in such Cases made and Provided
       as also came Elizabeth the Wife of the within mentioned Thomas Smith
       who being privately examined out of the hearing of her said Husband
       acknowledged her Right of Dower in the Tract or Parcel of Land within
       mentioned to be the right of the within mentioned Nathan Smith
       his Heirs and Assigns willingly and freely without being Induced thereto
       by fears or threats of or ill Usage by her said Husband or fear of
       his displeasure                                       William Smith Just Corum

       I Hereby Certify that the within named William Smith
       and George Parker Gent before whom the within Deed is signed and
       acknowledged were at the time of signing and taking the same
       Acknowledgment and now are two of his Lordships the Lord Proprys
       Justices within the County af.d lawfully Authorized & Assigned

                            In Testimony whereof I have hereto set
             Seal         my Hand and Affixed the Publick Seal of the County

Ex.d This Indenture made the 17.th day of November In the
       Year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and forty four
       Between Elizabeth Smith of Calvert County Widow of the one
       part and Nathan Smith of North Carolina but now being in
       Calvert County Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that
\      the said Elizabeth Smith for and in Consideration of the Sum
       of five Pounds lawful Money of Maryland to the said Elizabeth
       Smith in hand paid by the said Nathan Smith the receipt
       whereof is hereby acknowledged as also for divers other good
